Lagoon!

Every summer I take the kiddos to Lagoon for a day of FUN. This year, to our SHOCK and JOY, Mike joined us! (While he LOVES his family, he HATES Lagoon....) We had a marvelous time. Mike gets sick super-easily, so he's pretty limited on the rides he can do. I, on the other hand, can still stomach the big rides! Yeah!
Dracula's Castle

The Log Ride

After Rattlesnake Rapids

Tidal Wave

This ride was so hilarious because the girls didn't know that you can control your own boat. They got SOAKED because they were right in the target zone for the water squirter. All they had to do was move the joy stick up or down a little and they would have been completely dry. I about died laughing watching them anticipate the water part with dread, knowing that they were in control of their boat, if only THEY had known....

Mike took Lauren and Nathan, while Ellie and I hit Collosus and the Screamer over and over and over again!!!

Happy birthday Nathan!

Waaah! Waaah! How is it possible that my sweet little baby boy has turned 6???!!! It doesn't seem real. But, according to math and the date on his birth certificate, it seems to be so. We had a cowboy party for him -- Yee Haw! It was great! He had 13 kids come. We served lots of cowboy "grub" : chili, rolls, chips, soda, fruit and candy (no cake, Nathan's not a fan) We played 'pin the mustache on the bandit', had wheelbarrow races, played horshoes, attacked Mike with waterguns, lassoed horses and had a Rootin' Tootin' good time. I LOVE NATHAN!!!
 Man, this kid is cute
It's always fun to open presents. The favorite gifts this year?? LEGOS

Fourth of July

Happy Fourth of July!! (A little late!) Lauren and Ellie performed at the Millcreek Celebration with their Children's Cantible Choir. They did a wonderful job singing such patriotic favorites as "You're a Grand Old Flag," "Surfin' USA," and "God Bless America"-featuring Miss Lauren Osborne as the soloist!!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!
We spent a memorable Easter stranded on the highway coming home from St. George. We left St. George at 9:00 A.M. headed toward Mom's house - Honeybaked ham, cheese potatoes, Jello, warm rolls, Easter egg hunt....planned for 4:00. At 8:00 P.M. We pulled up to the house in a tow truck with empty tummies and
tired bodies. The delicious feast we had hoped for was replaced by Burger King. Instead of spiritual messages of the resurrection, we listened to our talkative tow tuck driver chat about this and that.  My mom did pull through with yummy leftovers and an impromtu candy hunt for the kids. We also have new car news.....It was an Easter to remember!!

How to have FUN in Sunny St. George!

How do you have FUN in Sunny St. George??

1. You spend lots of time swimming with Dad. If you're Ellie, you break your own best record by floating on your back for 5 straight minutes!

2. You swim like a frog - and you cross the lily pads several times!

3. You spend several hours hiking Snow Canyon, while eating sunflower seeds.

4. You find lots of lizards!

5. You eat at Dickey's Barbecue Pit

6. You hike Fat Man's Crack. Or Bat Man's Crack. Or Bat Man's Fat Crack (as it has been called)

7.You very nearly get blown off of Fat Man's Crack!!

8.You feed goats, ponies and llamas at a darling petting zoo on the way home from Zions.

9+ You must spend the weekend with your best friends!! You must have an ill-fated trip to the instacare and the ER. You must have at least one person acquire a smoker's laugh. You must play hours and hours of Canasta. You must eat at least 2 full bags of licorice, a bag of Chips Ahoy, 2 packs of ice cream sandwiches and 6 Easter baskets of candy. You must have a car break down in Cedar City and you must be towed home. Another post to follow on that......

Zion National Park

I just love Zions Canyon! It is a Utah Must-See, for sure. Beautiful! Majestic! Magical! Breathtaking!
I am happy that Lauren, Ellie and Nathan are such great hikers. We spent a wonderful day at Zions over the weekend, and I loved every minute. I have never hiked Angel's Landing, but it is on my bucket list. I will do it before I die!! Anyone want to do it with me??

After a full day of hiking, we enjoyed an all-you-can-eat pasta bar at Brick-Oven. YUM!!
